My Vocal chords through years of use have developed a bothersome little nodule. (a small bump) The nodule has taken away my ability to sing falsetto... I first noticed it 4 years ago in Japan on my Blue Note Tour. One show I could hit high notes and the very next show I couldn't.
At first I thought it was simply a sore throat or a temporary situation. But show after show, it wasn't coming back. I had to hand vocal parts to Nicha. Then I just knew that it would return after less use and some needed rest. But 2 weeks after coming home, no difference!
I was confused and also in denial that something was seriously wrong, until about 2 years ago. I finally went to see a voice specialist and they took a close look at my vocal chords and saw the culprit.  This year I am having to consider taking 6 months off of touring and recording in order to give my voice a fighting chance. I also could have a surgery done, but it would still take 6 months of solid recovery and voice rest. This is hard cuz music is my love and livelyhood, plus I preach. So I would appreciate your prayers. Any advice is appreciated. (back)
