Chewing Gum
What’s up yaw’l,

It’s been a minute since I’ve talked to you all.
This is just to my personal friends, so if you are on
it by mistake, just let me know & I’d be happy to wipe
U off ze face of ze earth!  :-) (kiddin’)

Anyway, I’m writing from Singapore, (Asia).
They’re 12 hours ahead of us in America, and about a
15 hour flight on de plane. Ya know, after 17 years of
touring around this floating ball, It’s still amazing
to set my two eyes on new sights and cultures, and to
experience the bigness of God  and his creations!

Singapore is gorgeous! (wow) The people speak
English and Chinese, the weather here is tropical and
very nice! And their faces seem carefully crafted from
smooth, tan sands and deep brown mud’s of ancient
lands and times of old.

However, don’t slip up, they believe in them old
school whuppin’s! The laws are serious here! If you
are caught drug trafficking, you will be hung
(executed on the spot!) For littering, CHEWING GUM and
J-walking you can be ARRESTED or caned! This is the
place where a U.S. kid was caught doing graffiti and
he was caned! (Beat down – with a cane, sometimes even
in public!)

But you know what…I ain’t mad at em. This is one
of the safest places in the world to live! (unless
you’re a crook) And we are being treated like royalty,
beautiful hotel, wonderful folks. Plus, I believe in
countries having their own way of running things. Do
ya thang Singapore, do ya thang!

Sony Ericsson and Singtel is hosting one of our
world re - known LIVE AD celebrations tonight! We’re
performing for a straight up block party in DOWNTOWN
Singapore! The kids here are amped! We did a huge
press conference yesterday, and the vibe was awesome,
plus got us some free Phones too. (Gotta love it)

Warner Brothers just signed us in Singapore for
“Since The Last Time”! It’s exciting times! Plus, I’m
just very happy to finally see my wifey, Yolanda
again. I was in Tokyo all of last week by myself.

Believe it or not, in Tokyo, I did a song for
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in Japan. Yep the toys! I
want to again give love to: Jamil, T2ya, Metis, Wise,
Crown records and especially Jeff for the cool gifts
you got for Jahi & Zoe (my kids).  Everybody made it
so fun for me! Thanks so much yaw’l! We’ll be back
there God willing this December! Props to Club Harlem,
Hasabe, Gaku, Mahattan Vinyl Record shop!

I love recording in Japan, some of the best
engineers do work there, plus Japan’s bubbly sound is
somewhat refreshing compared to what we get in
America. Not to mention, I had the best KOREAN food
I’ve ever had… in Japan. (Wudda ya know?)

Ok, Oct. 30th  is our official “Since The Last
Time” release on (Vagabond Records & Tapes). The hype
machine is starting up and I’m encouraged! Got a few
exciting things in store. (Including a AD Mix Tape)
It’s been over 13 years since we’ve done music for the
states, so lemme know what you think of it once you
scoop yours.

Just a few weeks ago, we performed the Santa
Monica Pier. It was a spiritual, energetic experience!
The promoter said AD drew over 10,000 people total!
(The largest amount of folks EVER)All of us were like
a village! 3,000 people partying on the beach under
the moonlight & stars, plus another 7,000 in front of
the stage! Check www.lifemusic.us for pic’s from fans!
Props to Georgette for heart & all your wonderful
help!

Remember my dream group: SOLESIDE? (Me, Kyle
Hollingsworth of String Cheese Incident, and DJ Chief
Xcel of Blackalicious) we are about to hit the road
again!
Here’s the dates:
9/26 at the Chameleon, in Lancaster, PA
9/27 at the North Star Bar in Philly, PA
9/28 at 8x10 in Baltimore, MD
9/29 at BB Kings in NY, NY
Yo, the crowd response so far, has been hot! (btw, DJ
Logic couldn’t make it – so with the addition of
Xcel…we may change our name to 3 Foot ICON.?! (What
cha think?)

For my praying folk, send one up about AD getting
a street name in our honor. This has been in the works
for a while, and ATL’s big on lifting up the positive
sides the city’s contribution! It would be smack dab
in the hood and that’s where our heart is. The city
recently honored me with a Proclamation for all of my
positive writings in music, so prayers are
appreciated. I’m also doing some work for Barack Obama
speaking on hip-hop panels with Lil Kim, Russell
Simmons, Michael Dyson, Al Sharpton. It’s an
historical ride! We could see the first black
president and first woman Vice-Pres. in the U.S. soon!
:-)

I’m so proud of Jahi & Zoe, they got their own
email addresses now! Mind you…they only get e-mails
from Yolanda & I, most of em they get as we‘re sitting
right across the room from them. :-) Hilarious! But
hey, it makes em feel like grown folk.
Yolanda & I got them focusing on academics more
than ever before, (got inspiration from our friends
Clint and Denise - thanx) They reminded us how great
it is to see examples of excellence in our culture,
especially in the realms of school, cuz it’s not
lifted up enough.

Anyhoo, we go to Jerusalem soon, doin a show with
Black Eyed Peas in a huge Stadium, I’m really proud of
Will.I.am, he’s doing a great job, making hot tracks
for the pop world with BEP, Fergie, but also on the
underground with joints on Talib, & Common. Ad’s
planning to hit the church there, maybe BEP will come
too, see Via Delarosa. Aww yeah! See everyone soon.

I love my fam (church & Blood) so much, so much
of what I get to do is because of you guys! Tiffany
(Yogi’s sister), Momma’s on both sides. GACC, Mike
Mullis, All of yaw’l have been so self-less with
helping us, thank you!

I miss you all, but don’t cry for me
“Argentina”…I’m chillin’ on an island, writing to my
friends, enjoying the favor of GOD. As long as I don’t
litter, chew gum or bring drugs into this place...I’m
smiling. :-)

Life is Poetry.

Peace & Strength,
