I never said I wouldn't do more rap stuff. I hope I don't throw some of my fans off... by the fact that my upcoming album "The Grown Folks Table" is primarily my version of Hip Hop.
My fans (Which I deeply appreciate) like me for many different reasons. Some like my singing songs ie: "Real Love" or "Clocks in Sync". Others dig me strictly from Arrested Development; so songs like "People Everyday" or "Tennessee" strike their chord. Others like "Peechy", my more straight Hip Hop creativity. I think the bottom line is, I am all of those things. I just LOVE creativity! I can't just stick to one style, I feel chained when I do that. Yet, I hear all about branding and confusing your audience (working against yourself) and to some extent i feel like I've done an EXCELLENT JOB at that over the years. YET, there are so many fans that come up to me in various countries and write to me, they say they are happy with How I am as an artist and what I've done, all though it's all over the place. So hey, what do you do? I already hate how the music industry has lessoned music to a streamlined product, there are less and less big selling artistic records today. (In my opinion). I don't know if you got a revelation I'm open to hearing it. (Hit me up) (back) |
